Youfavorite.agency presents a Telegram bot for the Bogaty Courier park, the leader in attracting drivers to Yandex Delivery. The bot facilitates interaction with couriers via messenger and organizes prize draws every week. Top couriers receive guaranteed rewards, and the wheel of fortune gives the chance for additional prizes, with increased odds for more productive couriers. “Rich Courier” is our partner and an open ecosystem where participants can enjoy sweepstakes through a convenient Telegram application. We are proud of a new stage in cooperation, where motivation and pleasure from work become key elements.

Goals

• Improve communications between fleet management and couriers via Telegram bot to more effectively manage delivery processes.

• Implement a system of regular cash prize draws for top couriers in order to motivate and increase overall productivity in Yandex Delivery.

• Ensure systematic downloading of up-to-date data and generation of reports on all park activities to continuously assess its overall performance.

• Create a tool to track bot usage, evaluate the effectiveness of functions and interact with couriers.

• Analyze data on prize draws to determine successful methods of motivating couriers.

• Transform the park into an open ecosystem where each participant can experience the benefits of cooperation, increasing motivation and profit for the park.

In the future, the bot will be continually improved based on user feedback to ensure it remains relevant and competitive.

Results

Three months passed from the start of work on the project to the launch of the MVP. During this time, we, together with the Rich Courier team:

• Created and launched a system for collecting and aggregating driver data

• Connected a bot to the telegram system

• Conducted more than 30 competitions and won more than 500,000 rubles.

Design

The illustrator of the Rich Courier developed the style of the wheel of fortune. His sketches served as the starting point for our adaptation process. By interacting with the illustrator, we were able to effectively integrate his ideas into the working product. The result was a harmonious integration of the wheel of fortune into the overall design of the project, while maintaining the uniqueness and originality of the illustrations.

Development

Throughout the development of the entire system, our team focused on creating a sustainable and innovative product. We chose a technology stack that includes Python and Django to ensure stability and ease of development. User interaction via Telegram is implemented using the python-telegram-bot library, and reliable implementation of the wheel of fortune design is ensured through collaboration with the illustrator.

One of the key decisions in the development process was the choice to use a webhook for the Telegram bot instead of long polling. This approach ensured more stable and efficient data transfer, reduced latency and server load, increasing the bot's responsiveness. Containerization technology with Docker and Docker Compose provided flexibility and manageability to our system.

The PostgreSQL database with the PostGIS extension was chosen for efficient storage and management of geodata. This technology stack provides high performance, ease of deployment and system support, which is the basis for the successful implementation of our tasks and providing high-quality user experience.

Architecture

Our system is based on three main environments: production (prod), development (dev) and testing (test).

• Production (prod): The environment for actual use of the system by end users.

• Development (dev): An environment for developing and testing new features without impacting production.

• Testing: An environment for thorough testing before implementing changes in production.

Problems

1. Unpredictable user behavior: Unexpected ways in which users interact with the system required clear logic.Solution: Implement a finite state machine to manage system states, ensuring predictable behavior.

2. Handling big data due to fleet growth: As the size of the data fleet increased, scalability and performance issues were encountered.Solution: Intensively optimize SQL queries and implement performance improvements to efficiently handle growing volumes of data.

3. Data update system to reduce load: Regular data updates are introduced to prevent system overload, especially during periods of increased activity.Solution: Development of a system for updating data at certain time and intervals, ensuring a more even load distribution.

   Despite the difficulties, the measures taken made it possible to effectively solve the problems, ensuring stable operation of the system even with dynamic changes and an increase in the volume of data.

Awards

Participation in prize draws has turned the daily life of couriers into a source of inspiration and joy. Some who had not won for many years experienced indescribable joy when they became winners. For those who faced difficulties, winning the prize was a shining testimony that luck can come in the most unexpected moments.
